The Future is Female & Caláh Jones is Proving it!
We all know that the future is female! If you didn’t know, get hip to Caláh Jones. She really does it all! Entrepreneur, creative and more. She took some time out to do an interview with 1.11ven where she shared who/what inspired her businesses, how she manages all her businesses, and what’s to come! Read the full interview below to learn more about this young boss!
Who is Caláh Jones? What do you want to be known for in this lifetime?
Caláh Jones is an entrepreneur — behind 16th Haven Private Women’s Club and Female Consumer Goods. Caláh is someone who will never accept a no but instead will find every way possible to get it. Someone who's always making an effort to do better, and to better herself. Never conforming to society or the typical. I would like to be known as someone who was unstoppable, someone who also made it possible for so many other people to see the light — never a gatekeeper always a door opener. Never allowing fear to get in the way of [my] dreams + never conforming. This life is yours, you must live it as so!
Who/What inspired you to start each of your businesses? FCG, 16th Haven Girls Club, Business Consulting!
Business has always come second nature to me. I started out on YouTube doing Kay and Kosh which gave me a very small taste of business doing collaborations with lots of different brands. It gave me the confidence that I never had which you really need as an entrepreneur. Kay and Kosh was great for me in high school but as I got older I definitely outgrew it and was looking for another alley that felt more like my true self, which is what I do now!
Female Consumer Goods began with my boyfriend and me, he was working on things prior to us being together but we both really just pitched ideas to make it what it is now. So much trial and error have come with it, but that’s business! There are certain things he’s good at and certain things that I’m good at which makes us really a great team when working together because we bring so many different things to the table. 16th Haven branched off of Female Consumer Goods...just wanting to create a space for the everyday female. I never had a bunch of friends, if anything. I’ve always been a homebody not really into partying or going out all the time and super introverted. I came to the realization that it’s not that I don’t like being social, but it’s being social with the right people! My friends and I love going to coffee shops together, bookstores, the gym and really just doing stuff to help us grow.
On 16th Haven:
Everything comes with time. Just remain consistent & persistent.
When it comes to events and spaces, there are a ton of parties but not too many self-development spaces for females without judgment and spaces that allow them to be totally vulnerable. Creating 16th Haven was also rooted in personal obstacles that I wanted to get over like putting myself out there, being able to be vulnerable, being around the right people and lots of other things that I struggled with at the time. The girl's club is really a great vibe. I always feel so refreshed afterward and I think it’s just super important to have a space or time where you can really reflect, be accountable and get to where you need to be. I’ve seen great things come out of the girl’s club…so many girls collaborate with each other after meetings, friendships come about, people get out of their comfort zones and find new things they love, and just great energy! We just wanted it to be for the everyday female!
On Business Consulting :
My consulting business has rooted out of everything! After years of experience in the field/industry, I have picked up so much knowledge, done so many things incorrectly and learned so much. I never really had someone along the way to tell me what to do and what not to do and things that you should do to benefit your business. It has all been trial and error. I was helping a couple friends out starting their businesses and I loved giving them the resources that they needed and really being that person to help them avoid mistakes that I made. I decided to offer it as a service and I’ve done lots of phone calls with many different people to specifically dive into their businesses and help them execute and take it to that next level!
How do you manage your growing businesses on your own or with limited resources?
I like to look at myself and my brand as limitless. Everything is truly all mental! If you believe that you can do something or get somewhere then you will. It’s truly about confidence; being an entrepreneur I truly believe you do need a little bit of ego, just a little though haha. You have to believe in yourself or no one else will. Just about anything on this universe can happen or get made. If I want it, I go get it because every problem has a solution if you are willing to recognize it. One of the biggest problems that we experience with Female Consumer Goods and 16th Haven is budget. It’s all self-funded and we go out of pocket for a lot of different things which I totally don’t mind. At the end of the day, I want everyone's experience to be the biggest takeaway. Investors do definitely make a huge difference and when we do get to that point I know it will definitely make a huge difference in our overall brand's production. It’s really about working with what you have to the fullest. Don’t let anything stop you! Everything comes with time. Just remain consistent and persistent.
I saw that you worked with Glossier this past summer! Congrats on that partnership! How was that experience? Any other companies or creatives you’d want to collab with in the near future? * let's speak it into existence*
Glossier is always a fun experience! From their stores to their overall brand and the people who work at Glossier. They are truly amazing and inspiring. That was definitely an experience in my career that I will never ever forget and it elevated the overall Girls Club Meet even more. There are many other companies that I would definitely love to collaborate in the future with a couple being: The Wing, Outdoor Voices, and Th-oughts, just to name a few.
Who are some of your favorite female bosses?
I love Emily Weiss (Glossier), Audrey Gelman (The Wing), Ty Haney (Outdoor Voices) and more importantly my friends and all women doing things in general! We are truly girl bosses, pushing each other to always grow & make everything of quality. My friends and I make it happen. The collective is so much stronger than the individual!

Minimal, Spontaneous & Passionate
Any self-care tips you use to stay looking so bomb?
Coconut Oil! Haha, not sure if that’s a tip or not, but literally that’s the best thing ever for clear skin, moisturized hair, it just does it all! Make sure it’s organic and unrefined of course but it’s magic and works for me!
What was your 1.11ven moment/breakthrough/a time you realized you could do anything you set out to do?
My 1.11ven moment actually rooted from a deep breakdown I had. When everything seemed out of place for me. My money wasn’t where I needed it to be, my mind wasn’t in a good place, and I wasn’t doing what I loved. I had to really sit and ask myself what was holding me back — I couldn’t even answer the question because it was myself. I knew I was way better than the place I was at and I told myself that because I knew that, that was the last night I’d continue to play myself and ever since I’ve been going as hard as I possibly can daily! It’s all mental!
If you could give a young girl one piece of advice, what would you tell her?
Everything is all mental! A lot of things that we put in our heads is all premeditated. Also, true self is what is not only within but also what is being put out. Make sure that you are being your best on a daily basis. There is always room for a fresh start daily, and being a good person is a choice. You have to make the best of your circumstances at all times & just try and find the light. Understand, you are limitless!
Are there any upcoming projects that we can expect to see you flourish in?
I have a couple things on the way that are going to be next level for me that I can’t speak on just yet but — I will be coming out with a denim + skincare line in 2019 which is definitely something I’ve been working hard on and looking forward to!
